Count per Day

3.033 Kommentare | Kommentar schreiben

GeoIP
  • With GeoIP you can associate your visitors to an country using the ip address.
  • In the database a new column country will be insert on plugin activation.
  • On options page you can update you current visits. This take a while! The Script checks 100 IP addresses at once an reload itself until less then 100 addresses left. Click the update button to check the rest.
  • If the rest remains greater than 0 the IP address is not in GeoIP database (accuracy 99.5%).
  • You can update the GeoIP database from time to time to get new IP data. This necessitates write rights to geoip directory (e.g. chmod 777).
  • If the automatically update don't work download GeoIPv6.dat.gz, extract and rename it to GeoIP.dat and load it to the "geoip" directory.

  1. Great Plugin. Will get rid of the Jetpack stats plugin and use yours instead. Yours is much better.

    Well done.

    Hallo Tom,

    Dear Tom
I am using this excellent plugin for my site yourstoryclub.com. Everything has been going well. Recently I added Vault Press plugin for back up and found that this plugin is updating back up every second as and when Count Per Day updating the database. I wrote to Vault Press and here is reply:
"Each time the counter in that table is updated, VaultPress gets a ping that something changed on the site. That will trigger a backup process that connects to your site to examine the thing that changed and to backup the data rows that did change. So, yes, having a plugin that updates a database table frequently will cause a bit more overhead on the site. As long as the plugin is not constantly updating the table it shouldn't be a problem.
    -Brian"
Could you pls make an arrangement to update database once in hour or at least 15 minutes to avoid extra load on my server. Thank you from yourstoryclub family

    • Tom Tom sagt:

Sorry, but that's impossible. Every visit will saved at the time of the visit.
Backup the database on every change is an slightly inefficient way. How many backups d you have while writing an post?
Couldn't you set an interval like 1 hour?

      • Chief Editor Chief Editor sagt:

yes Tom. I also think so. But it is the way vaultpress is doing. See in my previous comment their reply. Every change in database is pinging their server and then they consider it for back up. I assume this problem to be fixed for better compatibility with vaultpress and Count Per Day. I do not want to give up any of these wonderful plugins. Please suggest or discuss with vaultpress for better solution. Thanks Tom

  5. BG BG sagt:

    Hi Tom,
Thanks for your nice plugin. There are two issues.
    1. Because the individual boxes are a bit too wide, the edges are overlaying on each other, which cause the last digits of the numbers to be invisible. The only way to see the last digit is by dragging the box and putting it back. Is it possible to have the box widths adjusted. I see that box height can be adjusted. How about adjusting the width adjustment?
    2. The flag for Mongolia is wrong.
It will be nice to have these fixed. Thanks again for your wonderful plugin.

    • Tom Tom sagt:

The boxes have an min width set by WordPress. So if the screen is too small the boxes will overlap himself. But you can set the columns to 3 or 2 top right in the screen options.
It's on my todo list. The flag too.
